    Please Critique my little plant

My plant is about 30 days old and has been on 18/6 all the way through. I had the plant under 2 40watt fluros (2 inch away) for the first 25 days and I just switched to 2 fluorex's @ 65w (2 inch away). It just started growing the seventh set of leaves and is still not much taller than a lighter. I fed it nutes once about a week ago.

    All comments/criticizims/tips are welcome.

BTW: This is the first plant I've ever grown and I want to do my best make is a success.

    Hopefully the pics load O.K.
    Cheers

it's looking pretty good. it looks like it's going to be really bushy. so if you let it grow long enough, you should get a decent yeild from it. it looks healthy though. i don't know much about nutes so i can't really help you there. but good luck with this if it's your first grow. it's going good. good luck the rest of the way.

Plant looks good.... small. Get as many lights on that as you can. Go hit up home depot and grab some fluros. The health of the plant appears to be good. Lights would make a world of difference and you can pick up a 250 watt hps on ebay for less than a 100 bucks. Good luck

thanks weedracer. I wish I knew the strain of it (part of HGS Super Mix I got from highgrade) so i'ts one of the 6 superstrains. From what I can tell it's looks to be more like an indica strain but who knows. Yeah I'll probably be vegging it for a while yet as I want to get the most out of it. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be female.

    jett....

interesting paradox you have growing here....

    1. a 30 day old indoor plant should be 4 times the size of that one. AT LEAST.
    2. Your slow growth is not indicative of light failure, as there is ZERO stretching.

So we have unreasonably short growth / age ratio....yet....a beautiful, tight, compact plant that has already started healthy secondaries on first and second nodes...maybe more, i cant see so well anymore. I am stoned.

    Interesting situation......

I dont think there is any doubt as to it being Indica...

But why the midget status? Some possible scenarios or causes that I can think of:

    1. Static stale air. SOmetimes hot stale air will simply stunt a plant. Not kill or burn...just stunt.

Was she ever exposed to life without a fan?

    2. Genetic Runt. Hey it happens to people, cats, dogs, cucumbers, corn stalks, guys' penises....it could happen to weed

    3. WRONG COLOR TEMP BULB... I know of plants that simply need 6500K or they wont respond. Plain and simple. Even if you were to place the plant outside, it wouldn't respond in any many other than being a runt.

The sunlight will produce about a Kelvin of 5800. By going to 6500K, many times I understand you can force the runt to accelerate growth by using the combined increased solar spectrum and lighting period.

So here is how I see it....

Assuming this is not some exotic strain that grows slow for 30 days, then WHAM! takes off growing like wildfire....

You have a nice healthy plant. At her growth rate you will have to veg her for many months more to get some good yeild.

You can wait it out. Keep in mind....the longer you grow her....the more things you will need to do to keep her thriving....as plants age, their nutritional status changes as does the nutrient content of the soil....the more adding of nutes is what will be required and thats where almost all growers that fail after 30 days messed up.

You can try raising the color temperature of your bulbs....to do this will cost you about $50 - $60.........You dont buy these bulbs at your local supermarket or hardware store......yet....and they dont cost $15 - $25 ....

What is the kelvin of your current bulbs?

FUck man I just realized i typed a frickin book here and i am too wasted to follow my own train of thought...

sorry bro but i lost it.

Hope you can pick some sense outta my book here...didnt mean to bable on like that....

your plant is nice and pretty and i am just saying you can wait it out....or make a change....

if you choose change....i would buy the right light and start giving her superthrive.

I would love to see her spurt on you....

    Hey that sounds kinky

HARDDON : You shouldn't say the light isnt the problem, even though his plant is that size for 30 days old, the only thing I can think of is his light.. His light cant be that powerfull if that is a 30day old plant, it would only stretch if his light was way above his seedling.
If it's not the light, I would agree with HARDDON on the stale air, I would deeply suggest a fan for your plant.

NochowderForYou : Yes, HARDDON always *helps* people with there projects before we get to, MJ is tough to grow for some with little knowledge so HARDDON has to be a sexy beast with them, as you can clearly see .

I didnt necessarily say light isnt the problem.

If you read my post, I elaborate on possible light being the problem and went so far as to discuss getting 6500K lighting.

Lighting was one of my big possiblities as per the spectrum.

I disagree with the comment the light could be shitty only if it was too high.

That plant has secondary growth already happening despite the small size. Poor light placement wont allow that to happen.
