trying to make a long term bucket

ok so heres my thinking im gunna get a sobe bottle or something to that is big and made of glass, for the bowl i am going to use a glass bong bowl with a rubber o ring that will slide out, then a clear bubble gum bucket as the base with the water

so i have been asking around and ive gotten lots of sugestions as to how to make a hole in the sobe bottle i went to hte hardware store to pick up a drill bit but they didnt have any and i want to hit a glass bucket today so i was thinking of using the method where you put a penny in the bottle, shake it up to weaken the glass then take a nail and smash a hole through it, ive also heard of heating up the bottle in one spot (tried it one bottle shattered alll over my carpet) and drop a single drop of water on that spot but i dont really want to take chances with this

so does anyone know an effective, easy way to make a hole in a sobe bottle WITHOUT the use of a diamond drill bit or dremal?

Do you want to make, a hole for the stem and bowl? Or do you just want to just take the hole bottom off?

I don't know any other way to make a small hole in the bottom, but, taking the whole bottom off is really easy. To take the whole the bottom part of the bottle off, just take a butter knife and drop it in the bottle, so it hits the bottom hard enough and the bottom comes off in one peice. I've done this before and made myself a nice, glass hooter, that I keep in the freezer for smooth hits.

Other than that, you can try and use a normal drill bit. Just drill VERY slowly. The glass with turn bright red but eventually it will go through. Good luck.

the best way and the way i have been doing for months now is i have a dremel, its like a smaller roto-zip and it came with a few diamond bits. One is a sphere, one is a cone, and one is a cylindar. I get the dremel at full speed and slowly carve away the glass with the sphere one (practice make perfect). I take a small layer at a time. Soon a tiny hole gets through and i move on to the cone shapped on until the hole is big enough for the cylindar but. Then i just carve until its the appropriate size. Hope this helps a little.
I am going to try some of the ways u have heard cuz the heating one spot and drop of water on it would be great for the shot holes i need to make.

yeah i had a dremel but i made over 20 bongs with it my sphere shaped bit, its completely smooth it will only scuff the glass up a bit, i used it way too much

ps. if you use the drop of water on the hot spot trick tape the bottle up with duct tape and scrape off a bit of the tape so your on the surface of the glass like the size of a dime then do it or it will spider crack and you will have a fucked bottle on your hands

yea, the gravity bongs with the single hole in the bottom are awesome. you should get yours filtered man. i use just a regular 2 liter and change it out every once in awhile and i cut a hose the length of the bottle and it actually screws onto it the bottle cap and i have a ratchet piece with a screen sealed in the cap, and i put the hose into the bottle top, so when you raise it out of the water, it bubbles through the hose and when your done, just take out the hose, and inhale.

A "glass hooter" is what I use to inhale all of the smoke. It is pretty much a bottle, with the round bottom peice of the bottle, knocked out. What I do is "blades", or hot knives, I take the 2 knives and as I am pressing them together, the bud starts burning, and put them on the inside of the bottom of the bottle, and inhale.

Just like doing blades/hot knives with a plastic bottle, except this one is glass so the hot knives don't melt the sides of the bottle, and keeping it in the freezer gives you a nice, smooth, cool hit. Hope this makes sense.
