Oxycontin isn't synthetic herion, but it's kinda similar, at least for people who aren't hardcore opiate users. I've also heard dilaudid called synthetic herion, that isn't true either. Yes, it's a painkiller (and a strong one), all opiates are painkillers, including herion.

Yeah Oxycontin is a tradename for Oxycodone manufactured by Purdue Pharmaceuticals. It is about equivalent to morphine in terms of pain killing effects and abuse potential. Oxycodone produces a euphoria similar to heroin and other opioids. Heroin is at least 1.5-2 times more potent than morphine, because it is better at crossing the blood brain barrier.
I enjoyed heroin more than oxycodone, though I did oxy at a relatively low dose and that was years ago.

No, Oxycontin is not "synthetic heroin", but it is somewhat similar to heroin (diacetylmorphine), and other opiates/opioids, such as : Codeine, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone. OXYCONTIN is made by Purdue Pharmaceuticals and there are generic forms of it available also. The ingredient in Oxycontin that gets you "high" is called OXYCODONE HYDROCHLORIDE. There is another drug with the brand name Percocet that contains anywhere from about 2-10 mg of Oxycodone with tylenol added to it for added painkilling power. Percocet is much weaker than Oxycontin even though the main ingredient in them (oxycodone) is the same. Oxycontin is stronger because they contain more of the active drug oxycodone than percocet does. There are also other things like Endocet which is generic percocet so it's basically the same. Percodan is oxycodone with aspirin and it about the same strength as percocet and endocet except it contains aspirin instead of the tylenol.

Oxycontin (oxycodone) is often abused by people and is snorted or injected to give a high that is somewhat comparable to heroin (diacetylmorphine). Some people even prefer it to heroin. So it is a "good drug" and is pretty strong for some people. Dilaudid is another drug that is often abused when people cannot get heroin. The ingredient that makes you "high" in Dilaudid is called HYDROMORPHONE. It is much stronger than oxycodone and many times stronger than morphine but it is not a very good drug when taken orally (swallowed by mouth). It is good for medical purposes when taken orally but for recreation most people inject it because it brings on more euphoria than when it's taken by mouth.

Heroin (diacetylmorphine) is the Queen of opiates/opioids, but some people prefer prescription painkillers such as the ones I listed above. Do not fuck around with opiates or you could most likely become addicted and have a big problem. The high is not worth it even though it feels good.

P.S: it's called Oxycontin because the pills are continuous release pills. This means that the pills have binders and fillers in them to make the medicine last for about 8-12 hours. People who abuse Oxycontin usually crush up the pills so the medicine is released all at once! This can be extremely dangerous to the opiate naive. If you have to ask what Oxycontin is, you are opiate naive and shouldnt crush up an oxycontin and take it. You could die.
