Daylight Saving to extend by four weeks starting in 2007
Thanks for the link Beeble. Still doesn't make much sense to me though. I can totally see it back when most people in the country were farmers but I can't really see it having all that much influence on energy use today. Especially when most people are at home watching the boob tube, or at the computer, after dinner whether or not it's light out.
It really weird when you go to somewhere else in the world where they don't have it. The first time I travelled out of the country I went to Thailand in the middle of the summer. It was still light at 9:00pm back here but over there it was already dark at 6:00pm. There's a spot on the coast where a lot of people go to watch the sunset and there is a sign stating the times for sunset. They're so close to the equator that there's only 5-6 minutes difference in the sunset times from the shortest to the longest day of the year.Fengzi Reviewed by Fengzi on . In the long run it will help to combat the rising cost of energy by reducing total consumption. Rating: 5
