So I've always been with people who know how to roll and know what they're doing. I guess I've taken it for granted, now that they're out of town.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of what you need to do to weed before you can put it in a bowl or roll a joint?

all you need is:

1. a sack of marijuana
2. a pack of papers
3. willingness to learn

now that you've got your supplies, sit down with your weed and papers in hand and just go at it. start twisting up as many j's as you can, you'll mess up, that's the point, before you know it your friends will be asking you to roll up. you should really read some information about rolling on the internet, there's much more than meets the eye.

when you think about it, no matter how you roll it, your gonna get high. it's burning weed and your inhaling it.

dont break the bud up when u are packing a bowl.... thats just stupid... when its broken up... it puts more air in it... thus u arnt packing as big of a bowl...and u should realy always pick the steams and seeds out, wether or not u are rollin a joint/blunt... or packing a bowl...

and the best way i think for a n00b for rolling is sticking 2 papers together and then roll. cuz theres more room for bud and u dont end up with a lot of paper

dunno if anyone's corrected everyone above yet or not, but don't grind/break up your weed real fine if you're goign to pack a bowl....more than likely (especially if you're new) all it's going to do is burn half a bowl in one hit and you'll cough it all out....waste, where as if you only break it up into 4 or 5 small peices of bud the bowl will last atleast over 15 hits. as for rolling, you don't want to turn it into a powder, but it needs to be pretty finely ground or it won't roll/burn right.

it'd burn a lot slower. my bowl isn't big enough to supply me with fifteen hits though.

if you just stick a whole bud in there you won't get very good hits...the flame would just go around the outsides of the bud. not burn worth shit...and 15 is just an estimate....but that's about what i get in my bowl..and i dont' have a very big bowl...everyonce in awhile you gotta get rid of the ash/filth that builds up on the top..but that can be done by lightly packing again and turning the bowl upside down and tapping it lightly.....works for me..all the ash just falls out and what's left is still smokable shit.
