I have a perfect solution for your prob. This spray is perfectly fine for bud plants. First, get a bulb of garlic, 1/4 onion, 1 tbs of cayanne pepper, 1 tbs of liquid dish soap, 4 cups of water. Crush the garlic bulb mincing it fine, chop up some onions nice and small, mix the garlic and onions in 4 cups of water. Add the cayanne pepper, mix that up, and let it sit for about an hour. Finally, add the tablespoon of dish soap, strain the onions and garlic out, and your non-toxic spray is ready! It can sit for a week in the refrigerator, and get rid of gnats within a week!

Use Neem Oil. Mix 1/2 tsp. neem oil and 1/4 tsp. mild dish soap into 1 liter/quart water (I prefer distilled), shake it up reakl good. Now spray the WHOLE PLANT, underside of the leaves and all, and spray the roots as well. Repeat this every other day for a week, you will still see the gnats, but they will not be able to reproduce, kinda like bug-genocide. The adult gnats are harmless to your plants, it's the larvae that hurt the plants by eating the roots. You can also mix a slightly stronger solution and spray the rest of the grow room to be sure that they don't come back.

Also this is a safe solution that can be used except in the final week of flowering.

    Hope this helps.

There are some sprays that you can get from HD that will take care of your problem. They have several fruit sprays that are safe to use and cost around 8 bucks.

Neem oil can be purchased at a gardening store, or the hydro shop

Thanks for the suggestion but I ended up getting lavacide from a local hydro store. I wanted to use neem oil but the specialist was pretty set on the larvacide. I was told this is what I need for this problem. So far it seems to be working pretty good. Almost all gone. I've treated my soil 3 times in the last 6 days. You need to use 2tbl spoons of the lavacide solution per gallon of water. I didn't water the plants the next day after the treatment because I didn't want to over water them. You really need to drench the soil throughly and then fully strain the pots from any access water for about a week I was told. Lets see if this works.
