Would you not also reccomend some rooting powder be placed in the new soil?

When I transplant, I always dust the soil lightly with rooting hormone powder right where the roots will meet the new dirt.

Done within 20 seconds, you plant will never know what hit them and will just keep on cranking out the leaves.

The trick is to do it quick and be surgical in your precision.

Of course you have bigger problems than this, but consider it future knowledge just in case
