Zandor, pH "regimen" from the other thread.....
Zandor, I posted this question to you on another thread, but posted this new thread to get your attention. This could be very valuable information to someone like me who likes to constantly monitor and adjust pH levels in my ebb n' flow.
wow zandor, that's great knowledge. Tell me.... what is your pH "regimen" as to certain pH at certain stages. I have a constant pH monitor, and although I get a slow steady rise in pH especially after a nutrient change, I keep between 5.6 and 6. I would love to know what you recomend for all phases from seed to harvest as to exact pH and when.Stormcooker Reviewed by Stormcooker on . Zandor, pH "regimen" from the other thread..... Hey, Stormcooker you should start your own grow thread . I saw your plants and they are sweet. I would like to see your proggress. I would also like to see a chart or some thing on the PH and nute uptake too. Zandor's the man, if you would please.

Somebody needs to come up with a "pH plan". It is probably best in Hydro to keep your pH between 5.5 and 6.0 but maybe for the first few weeks after germination they prefer closer to 6 and then later closer to 5.5 and so on. I know there is a "best way" and I aim to find out about it. I have a constant pH monitor so I can always stay on to of the situation and I like the hands on of it all.
For instance, a pH reading of anything lower than 5.8 lacks the best uptake of Mg and P (is that magnesium and potassium??) and anything higher than 5.8 lacks the best uptake of Ca and certainly Mn (calcium and ?????). So theres got to be a plan as to when to stay on that upper end and when to stay lower, or just stay in the middle and vary a little naturally.
I'm brainstorming right now, and since I am no stranger to technology and beneficial supplements, how about this...............
If I keep the pH at 5.8, give or take .2 due to normal fluctuation, I can supplement the resevoir with potassium silicate (Silica blast) and calcium/ magnesium (Cal-Mag plus) for added insurance that there is that nutrient available and ready for uptake as long as the pH allows it to.
ahhh, the science can be fun too.\"Smoke and a pancake? Bong and a blintz?

I'm with you. What would be best for veg ? and what for flowering ? This would have to be answered by some one who kept very good records much like a ships log. And a botonist, and a conisuire to be able to judge how good. Or a lab to test. The science would be mind boogleing , and so simple at the same time. I suppose it would have to be done for each strain as well. Some thing to think about. Up till 3 weeks into 12/12 my PH has been on the high side. I think I will keep it on the low side for the rest of the 5 weeks and see what happens. That's what playing is all about.

The problem is it will change for just about every strain and cross that's why you play with the law of average sometime. It's personal experience that allows you to very the nutrients by Ph. It's only good for about 6 hours then it drifts up or down. That's why I don't talk about it much. It's not like it can hurt anything by drifting up a point or too for a few hours.

It's used by farmers and inspectors to check sugar content and nutrient absorbation in plants.
Check on eBay, I paid only about 80 bucks.
