Somebody needs to come up with a "pH plan". It is probably best in Hydro to keep your pH between 5.5 and 6.0 but maybe for the first few weeks after germination they prefer closer to 6 and then later closer to 5.5 and so on. I know there is a "best way" and I aim to find out about it. I have a constant pH monitor so I can always stay on to of the situation and I like the hands on of it all.

For instance, a pH reading of anything lower than 5.8 lacks the best uptake of Mg and P (is that magnesium and potassium??) and anything higher than 5.8 lacks the best uptake of Ca and certainly Mn (calcium and ?????). So theres got to be a plan as to when to stay on that upper end and when to stay lower, or just stay in the middle and vary a little naturally.

I'm brainstorming right now, and since I am no stranger to technology and beneficial supplements, how about this...............

If I keep the pH at 5.8, give or take .2 due to normal fluctuation, I can supplement the resevoir with potassium silicate (Silica blast) and calcium/ magnesium (Cal-Mag plus) for added insurance that there is that nutrient available and ready for uptake as long as the pH allows it to.

ahhh, the science can be fun too.
