I ordered a couple pipes from everydoesit.com a couple days ago thru fed ex to south florida and after reading a couple sites about the status on paraphernalia with the government i got quite paranoid. I know its against the law for anyone to check personal mail but could they still screw me up ?

No, I don't think so. If I remeber right, it isn't against the law to have a clean, unused pipe to purchase or in your possesion. As long as it hasn't been used, it is clean, no resin, then it's okay.

technically it is illegal to sell, order, ship, ect.. anything that is not a "traditional" pipe. If you look at the FED LAWS. It is better to get slow shipping on items of this nature. Parcel Post is rarely checked, It's when you do express or overnight that they more thoroughly check. they would much rather find drugs.

Nochowder is head on that one if you have a pipe NEVER been used its nothing more than a piece of glass and they cant do anything. If it has even the slightest amount of resin it can and most likely will be confiscated.

Look harder into the laws. ( I'm not trying to be a dick by saying that) Look at the case of Tommy Chong and OPERATION PIPE DREAMS. if you type that latter in the search engine you will learn alot about what they can do to you for a non-traditional pipe.

... depends on the head shop. I go to one where you talk about smoking with them. Depends on who is working though. When I got my bubbler and slide a few days ago I said bowl without thinking and the lady corrected me and said pipe, but she didn't kick me out...

They cleaned out the smoke shops in my city of all glass and blunt wraps. Confiscated it all! Our state is going with the: All "Non-Traditional" Pipes are considered Drug Paraphernalia regardless of if they are clean or dirty.
Headshops can't even exist here. the surrounding cities are going the same soon.

May I ask what area you are from oncea420alwaysa420? Apparently there is a push to outlaw all glass pipes, I think somone started a thread sometime this week about it.
