    Tempature 1000wHPS Hortalux bulb/ballast.

Hey, I am adding 2 shelfs in my cellar that is about 2x1.5x4. Im purchasing a 1000wHPS ballast/hortalux bulb for 185$CAD. I want to know what kind of heat this will generate because my cellar can get offly cold and I want a bigger leaf turn out then I already have. The leafs on my other plants turned out to be tiny towards the bottom. () I think I need a panel ()

If you're looking for your lights to supply the heat for your grow area, you may need some auxiliary electric or kerosene heaters. A 1000 W HPS lamp will put out approximately the same amount of heat as a typical hair dryer. Might work fine for a small grow area, but a large room is going to need more, if the weather is cold.

Alright, but keep in mind that I am going to have 3 of these 1000 W HPS lights running for flowering. I am gonna use a 3 250 W MH lights with a couple 100w fluoro's for veg. My cellar is about 10 feet under ground so I am assuming it will get cold come winter time so I will go pick up kerosense heaters. Thanks .

Joel ā?? Why do you want larger fan leaves? I understand making hash with them but you donā??t smoke leaves.
If you want more buds lower you need more light on the lower parts of the plant.
Beeble is right they will not be enough to hear your room. If you are going to spend money then pick up a Propane CO² generator and place it at ground level it will warm the room and help the plants too.

The temperature underground will depend on the frost line in your area. You should be able to keep a constant temperature in the 70ā??s and that would be perfect.

The tempature underground here is terribly cold. I live in Yukon, Canada ( Check the map its wayyy north ). The ground gets frozen and cold, so I am gonna increase my fernace heat to about 90deg. I think that I might move my mother into my laundry room again, because when I do laundry using the dryer, it heats up the room. That would mean building my own grow box though, I might do it because I got some help by 2 other local people. Zandor :: I mentioned I need a panel downlow to reflect the upper light to the bottom leafs, I am using the leafs for hash making and I am going to be starting up about 15-20 plants in soil come september. 1 Question though, I want to grow all indica or atleast indica x sativa cross. If you know of any good indica x sativa strains to grow under 1000w of HPS lighting and 250w MH.

Most crosses will grow indoors fine, Northern lights #5, WW, Northern Berry, Hindu Kush they all do very well indoors under lights. There are many many more that is just a few off the top of my head.

I lived in very cold climate as well for several years. The ground froze down about 16" every year. That is the frost line I was talking about. Below that 16" point the ground was warmed by the earth and did not freeze is all I was saying. 10' is a deep frost line is all?

Ah thanks for that pointer there Zandor, My cellar goes about 5 feet under so I should be fine. Just ot be safe though I am going to bring up the tempature in my house to about 90deg. My cellar room would be at about 75-80 wich is fine for most indoor growing. I'm thinking about doing Bubblegum, Northern Lights x Haze, or Hashplant.

Thanks Zandor, But I do think I am going to drop the bubblegum because my buddy in BC grew it once, he said he had a problem with it. I am going to go Hashplant / Northern lights x Haze / Aurora Indica . I dont think they should go in ceperate rooms , I could just tag off easily wich are wich and feed them different nutes. Although that would be largly expensive but I am planning to push this grass up here for 3g a pound. Canada,Yukon is DRYY for weed, we pay 20$ for 1.3 :O. I say it ends.
