In that 2nd picture, the first plant you see is very indeed healthy, but the rest as you look behind are shit, I hope your friend knows what hes doing and isnt just planting and hoping for the best...

joel is talking about the fert burn on the second pic in the background plants, looked cooked. small tip for your friend; NEVER grow in cornfields, the corn will finish alot earlier than the pot, leaving the pot the only green plant in the field. i used to wonder why all my plants kept being found, well when there are thousands of acres of brown corn & a helicopter flies over the pot stands out like a sore thumb!. just my 2cents.r
