A campaign finance scandal clouded his presidency, leading some opponents to demand his resignation, and it became unclear if he could weather this storm through to the end of his term in 2006.

A country like Costa Rica can afford the luxury of going without an army. Backed by the entire U.N. not to mention big brother to the North, they're about as safe as a baby in a cradle!

I am still looking forward to a change...and things are headed in the right direction in Costa Rica.....
No country can be without corruption....but I pick my battles. I do not agree with arms sales, or warprofiteering so I have found a place where that is not an issue.

You can become a citizen in just 6 mos. and then all your medical is covered 100% and you don't have to give up your US citizenship...the medical care is so good that many people are flying there to have major surgery like heart bypasses because the care is so good and it is so cheap. The hospital food is excellent and they give a family member a bed as well. Family is "expected" to stay all for one cost.

We have a lot doctor friends that have retired there.... I can post a few info links if you like...
