Ok
as you guys may know, theres lots of movies and music with stoners... well some of these movies show potheads as "idiots" and "dirty people"

i'm not trying to be a jackass, but these movies are not helping getting weed legalized.

Well alright, i've been watching all these videos lately that are weed related. 80% of them are rappers who barely have a 9th grade education, and if anything are not helping getting the plant legalized.

A group i listen to ( and enjoy ) is Kotton Mouth Kings. But they seem very crazy for stoners, and in the song "peace not greed" say "motherfuck the police"

lol i sound so stupid right now but

that's not gonna help get weed legalized
i mean , can't someone write a knowledgable song about weed that's just a peaceful song???

fuck
i sound so stupid right now
but what do you guys think

i think it's NOT helping.
but i can't change anything

people are gonna get mad at me for posting this topic
but it's just my opinion

in the next 20 years
theres always BC or Amsterdam

but BC could change
i mean, back in the early 70's... supposedly san fransisco was very pot leanient... but now, it's still pretty leanient... but not like it was in the 70's

maybe BC's just going through a good phase concering weed

Peaceful songs about weed....it used to be done!

Rush:A Passage to Bangkok

And my personal favorite:

White Which: It's So Nice To Be Stoned

A proclamation was issued today,
By the government of the USA,
Up to ninety-nine years in jail,
For illegal possession or sale,
How can they think they're right when they're wrong,
I guess they've never been stoned.

It's so nice to be stoned, It's so nice to be stoned,
It's so nice to be stoned, It's so nice to be stoned.

Marijuana is the killer weed,
It's gonna be the end of you and me,
So says the TV news report,
Excuse me while I take a snort,
Let's get together now and take a toke,
of that magic smoke,

It's so nice to be stoned, It's so nice to be stoned,
It's so nice to be stoned, It's so nice to be stoned.

Now bombs and tanks and riot gas,
Can't keep you from smokin' grass,
Now listen to me brother and I'll tell you true,
Marijuana is good for you,
Breath deeply,

It's so nice to be stoned, It's so nice to be stoned,
Gonna sing it from the rooftops yeah,
It's so nice to be stoned, So so so niice,
It's so nice to be stoned.

Problem is most of these dumb ass rappers wouldn't be worth shit for the sales without the violence and stupidity!

i agree
i like some rap, but some just is fuckin up legalization IMO
it's giving weed a bad name, fact is... most people who toke are pretty peaceful

but most times i hear a rap song, there like " I beez rolling mad blunts up in this bitch, had to throw in a new cd mix... i then gots da gun at shot him in da arm, that bitch ass faggot fuckin throwin the smoke down"

or something equally stupid

but now people are starting to realize everyone tokes. It's not just hippys, musicians/movie stars, or rappers, or hoods. It's everyone. Even cops i bet!
LAwyers, doctors, real estate agents, truckers, even school teachers

hopefully legalization does happen for ages 21+... either that or 18+

it'd be funny if america legalized fully before canada or british
hahahaha
i may have just jinxed it :-(

So what if the Kottonmouth Kings sing "motherfuck the police"? The pigs are the ones voluntarily enforcing this prohibition, and should not be let off the hook simply because they are following orders. They could easily choose a different occupation which does not involve infringing on other people's freedom.

Also, you have to remember that the Kottonmouth Kings are anarchists (for example, in that very same song they sing "Abolish government, it's nothing to me"). We anarchists, who are opposed to all hierarchy and authority, all structures which use coercion to force others to live according to their principles, we who believe that people should be free to do whatever they want so long as they don't infringe on others' freedom, are obviously in opposition to the violent techniques the police use to enforce rules imposed on us by the rich and powerful elite in control of the government. If you don't want to hear anarchist principles sung, don't listen to anarchist bands. If you want a song which advocates abolishing marijuana laws but keeping other forms of oppression, you're listening to the wrong people.
