I am suprised that you post something that makes it obvious you are capable of intelligent thought and can still say something like " I dont trust cops...no one should"
You are clearly stating that we should feel the same as you due to your experiences.
However horrible your experiences may be they are still the tiny, tiny minority.
Judging a huge group of people based on the actions of so few is so wrong, and as I said before, lacking in mature perspective on things.
It doesnt matter who we are talking about be it cops, secreteries, bus drivers or mechanics. Each person is responsible for their own actions and not responsible for those of others simply because of a common occupation. Its that simple.
I dont need to remind everyone where in history mentalities like that have led to horrible attrocities.
Funny you bring up 9/11. Those who hijacked the planes believed that they were ridding the earth of evil. Were all those people that died evil? NO. But they believed it based on their education of western society and the Us actions around the world.
Should you be held accountable for ,say ,the actions of your president?
Should I hate you because the US government affected an arrest of Marc Emery?
Or should I hate you because your government has horrible foreign policy?
Should your military be disbanded because some of them beat a few innocent iraquis?
I could go on and on but its all rediculous!
And, dont think that just because there wasnt that much looting and killing in the aftermath of 9/11 that it means your country would be safe as a kitten if you had no police. Your country would be the first to fall into chaos in my opinion. Its a silly comparison.

And were not talking about financial bullying here with 'every man for himself' were talking about that man down the road who might want to play a few games with jr. or the man with a basement full of guns and a list of grudges...or the man who just hates everyone ..we,ve got a lot of crazies out there and what would stop them from acting out their crazies if not the police or some organised group of protectors?
In modern society we need police and will never be without them, get used to it.
Ive given a list of the things Im thankful for the police for and I know every person has been positively affected by the bravery of police, you included, whether you know it or not. Take away police and you have instant chaos. Everyone with guns and a load of paranoia and fear. There would be no instant eutopia . I know if you put some honest thought to it youll agree . You seem intelligent enough.
