I noticed that a lot of people on this forum (and a lot of people NOT on this forum for that matter) hate police officers so much, that they are like fanatics. Why is this? Because they take your weed and arrest you? They do not make the laws. I don't hate cops, some cops are assholes, just like some pot smokers are assholes.

I don't like the fact that the cops can bust me (and have) that stinks.

I have never been a "die cop die" kinda girl, I think it's childish.

I try my best to protect my family, my friends, but what if the un-thinkable happened and an unknown person raped and killed your mother or sister, would you still hate the cops who found out the ID and busted them?

Anyway I feel like cops are doing an important job, and if I wanna "play" i might have to pay.

Police are the bullies in the schoolyard. The bankers and gentry pay them. There is a reason the people hate the bullies.

There are only three groups of people.

The ruling class
Those that work and protect the ruling class for privilege and status
Those that are subjects/citizens/slaves

Judicial, legislative and police belong in the middle there. We, the stoners, we belong on that there bottom. Why hate them? They protect the laws from above without jurisprudence (that means without judging the law). That would be similar to shooting a human because you are ordered to.

So, it is very simple, someone sworn to uphold the "rule of law" rather than a citizens inalienable rights should be hated, not respected. Someone who enforces laws regardless of their legal nature is a criminal, one who deserves derision and hate.

Simple no?

Another reason, cops are blatantly racist, and it isn't any batter, even since the 60s. Visible minorities get constantly picked out, often they're arrested on trumped up charges. I often see cops harassing people just because of the color of their skin, and this is happening in Montreal, supposedly one of the most 'open' cities in the world...

YES!!!! the RACE card. as a black person in america i have seen personally what power the law enforcement can do. it was with my father when i was a little girl and he did absolutely nothing wrong. he passed a police car in which the officer was dealing with someone else in front of a shopping mall. the police officer took it upon himself to approach my father after he was done with the previous case and accused him of almost not waiting for him when he was finished. it was a public street and my father had the right to pass. so THAT why i have a personal beef with law enforcement. i know that it's not right to carry a grudge, but after the things i've seen out of MY EYES....it's just not right.

I personally wouldnt hate someone just because he/she is a cop. Sure, many of them are racist, but many arent. And its easy to say cops sucks, but when you're a victim of a crime, are you just going to brush off a cop who wants to help you? My sister got into a minor traffic accident, and the cop was friendly and tried to be as unbiased as possible. I think I would be a hypocrite if I said I hate cops but would go to one if I needed to, for whatever reason. And yes, they voluntarily take up a job that involves arresting people. But come on, they're trying to make a living like anyone else. Yes, they work for the state, but we all voluntarily do things eveyday that help the state and corporation. If you go to college, you might be paying them money to do research for the military. That was a voluntary choice, no? And if you say you hate a cop because they work for the statehow far would you go with that logic? Do you hate all employees of Wal-mart, who are profiting off child labour? Do you hate every journalist who works at CNN, who run propaganda for the state?
