for this I needed those who were once my friends to tell if my soul was the same as their friend although the body has changed.
and after 20 years of trying to find an answer I got it. I was that person.

well it's simple
I needed proof that I had lived before
many books have been written but there is no real proof, at least until someone comes back from the dead and is recognized by former family, friends or lovers there is no proof. all there is is people saying: I was this or that" - but there is no real proof.

the thing is that I have pressured my old friends to give me an answer and they did. they don't like it because it destroys the machine and there's lots of money and secrets at stake but they had to surrender due to the evidence.
for the last 4 years I tried to find the answer, I needed it badly because God and all these subjects always had a deep meaning for me; let's say that I exist only to prove myself and my former friends that reincarnation is for real. Humanity needed this answer for a long long time, it has consumed us for ages just like you said.

among other things I found out how I died and I described it in perfection.

How about the kid who was supposedly reincarnated from a ww2 pilot and could rem the ship he flew off, the type of plane, certain wing mates names who were still living? He also rem how the pilot died and had nightmares about it which were very detailed. They confirmed everythign the kid said. Everything.
