I tried posting a reply on some scammers that got me and all I got was a threat to ban me from these boards. I say if we got scammed, we should expose that scammers name(s), e-mail, address, everything! So he/she doesn't do it again.

Ok Scammer list person, I want FunkyMonkey on the scammers list. I don't have any reason other than a dislike for monkies but I'm going to tell ScamList person that you ripped me off. Your name is tarnished for no reason and you can't reply.

SPINNER: Are you having some difficulty understanding this? Let me break it down into simpler terms for you smartass:

CURRENT SCENERIO
1. person 'a' has a bad deal with person 'b'
2. person a comes onto boards to complain and warn
3. community reads post
4. situation is discussed with person 'b' having opportunity to reply
5. community attacks person 'b' verbally and public shaming begins
6. over time thread is buried
7. person 'c' comes along and uneducated, enters into deal with person 'b'
8. return to #1 of perpetual cycle ( that means its endless dummy)

PROPOSED SCENEREO

#1.- 6. SAME AS ABOVE
7. repeat or obvious scammers are posted to a permanant locked thread
8. person 'c' comes along looking for meds
9. person 'c' reads scam thread
10. person 'c' is educated and less likely to get scammed

works for buyers and sellers
no mods need to 'judge' others disputes, the community does that already
we just need a mod to administer the locked thread

So, smartass do you think you understand now? In the future try reading the post you are replying to first to make sure you dont look like a simpleton.

forget it...it'll never happen here. all it would do is set up more sales chatter. we already have 2 sites for scammers. what's wrong with using them?

Set up more sales chatter? I dont understand how Del. We are already seeing several scam threads going. It would reduce half of that clutter if ppl knew who to avoid in the first place.
But, youre the mod not me
There is nothing wrong with using the current scam sites ( however messy they are) but perhaps a sticky to let ppl know where they are would be good for new ppl to the community.
Just a suggestion trying to help ppl not lose their med money. Not everyone can just try another provider if they lose their coin. Some painfully go without while the scammer spends their cash on a few cd's. Scammers infuriate my sense of fairness.
I may not have the perfect solution but the current situation could use some revamping.

Dont worry Ill take any more suggestions to the right forum though.

it would also make it appear like we are condoning the sales by posting who not to contact, then it would also be followed by more of the testimonials we now have plenty enough to pull daily already.

Yes, I agree it would 'look' like you are condoning the sales but no more so than the want ad section and wouldnt really be an endorsement of ppl not listed. I understand though that some loopholes are not worth the trouble to jump through.
You are in a better position than I to determine whats an appropriate move to benefit ppl and still maintain the site according to rules set forth by your host.
But what about a sticky in the ad section then to point ppl to the scam lists already used?

I have no issue with posting about scammers, providing relatively freely-available information like usernames, web URLs and email addresses. However, when you begin posting things like real names, addresses, telephone numbers and bank information, you have crossed the line and I will not allow it. One of the major issues I have with that sort of thing is the very distinct possibility of a miscommunication leading to the publication of personal information of someone who is NOT a scammer, with the result that someone might use the information given to find the person and cause serious harm to him or her. All for nothing. Then there is the legal aspect. Although there is a certain level of protection afforded to website operators against lawsuits filed in response to material posted by third parties, there is nothing protecting you from such litigation since you are directly responsible for you own posts. Were I to allow you to post personal information for scammers, however well justified, you could be subject to litigation, and I don't want to see that happen, either. So, this policy is as much to protect the innocent against misunderstandings and other foibles associated with online commerce as to protect you folks.
