How did you guys decide what tattoo you guys wanted?

ive always wanted a tattoo and now that im of age to get one, i want one that has meaning and wont be ashamed of later on when im an old fuck. Im taking all the time i need to think of one but am having trouble of what to put that is symbolic or worth having on me for the rest of my life. I was thinking somthing along the line of getting "the evil eye" tattooed(sp? forgive me) In my culture(not just this specific culture) the evil eye is like a jealous spirit that when too much good is happening to one person, it gets jealous and sticks them with badluck(or does somthing to bring down the person). Usually its a necklace or somthing you can put up like a dream catcher(the evil eye) and it protects you from the jealous spirit.......

dunno just a thought, what you think and share your experiences please

I design tattoo's and I'd have to say thats not a bad idea, but its kinda creepy lol and a lil simplistic. But if u dont want to be ashamed when ur an "old fuck" try and think like an old person as hard as it may be ^_^ it also depends on where ur planning on puttin it... {Celtic work is very popular always different and has many different meanings}

Just start drawing different things you like, even if your not a good artist. Then you can take it to some one who is and have them redraw it to your exact liking.

I just started drawing different things and I had always loved the idea of getting Carpe Diem done so I drew out a tat of it.

Then the other I had my husband draw a rose with blood dripping down it out of the petals.

That way they were personalized and I don't regret them a bit.

alot of people get tattoos to remember so they can always look back and say "....good times...good times." the way you are aproaching this is setting yourself up for dissapointment. just get somthing that you love or is symbolic to you in some way at THIS TIME and dont worry about what you will be thinking of it later. just dont get anything too stupid and u dont have anything to worry about.

I think the eye is a great idea. I always have one near me.

I had an image of my sister dancing at a night club put on me. She died 7 years ago and it is my only memorial to her.
