For answers to your questions, read The Psychedelic Experience, by Dr. Tim and friends. It's online, and free (I used to have it in hardcover). It's dated a bit, but still a good guide for these activities.

i haven't done shrooms but i LOVE acid. threshold dosage is about 25 ug(micrograms), but you should prolly take 100-150 the first time. take one tab and when you start to feel it take another one if you think you can handle it. it takes a while to kick in, between 30-90 mins, sometimes up to 2 hours, so don't take too much thinking that its not working. its extremely hard to overdose, the ld50(lethal dose in 50% of subjects tested) in animals is around 12,000ug, but if you take too much your first time you prolly won't have a good time. i find that its very hard to have a bad trip, and i have never had one. i seriously don't understand why people have bad trips, because everything is so beautiful that you are just in awe of everything. having a bad trip is really the only danger, besides thinking you can fly and trying to jump out of a window, but thats why you have a sitter. the peak will last for about 5-6 hours, but you will feel the body-high for 8-12 hours and i don't know if this happens to everyone but i can't sleep for a while after.

as for personal experiences, i have stared into a pitcher of water for half an hour just saying how beautiful it was, i thought i was a barstool, and i came up with the designs for all my tattoos while trippin'. expect for the walls to breath and auras around lights.

^^^i have no problem at all. i take cid by myself at my house all the time with my parents home. i am pretty much in control the entire trip. the only thing is that i'm louder than normal. sometimes i don't remember what going on but then i'm like oh yea i'm trippin'. i only take one tab if i'm by myself tho, but i even feel in control if i take alot more.

its better to trip with sitters the first time, but i think if your alone you won't have any problem with wanting to jump off a roof or anything. i only have thoughts like that if i'm with other people. don't know why?
