Yes, diesel engines can be modified easily to burn biodiesels such as those derived from hemp. Another fuel, methanol, can also be made from hemp.

There is your problem, older engines need fuel line upgrades since biodiesel eats away at natural rubber. It also cleans out all the shit in your engline the first times you use it, hence the clogged fuel filters.
