Using alcohol, Isopropanal alcohol, 99% stuff, you just soak the pipe in that stuff for a few hours and what you're left with, first off it will stink like alcohol, very strong smell, and it will be brown. The brown stuff is all of the resin, you want that. So you have to boil away the Iso, then what will remain, once all the Iso is burned away, is oil pretty much. A dark, smooth oil. But again, it will stink even more and can be very hard to breath at times, when burning away the Iso. I use a small mask I stole from work...
