There is also something about smoking the last month of your pregnancy, I can't remember if they said it caused you to go into labor, or it stopped your labor, but you should check that out before month 9.
    Good Luck, and congratulations!
use a vaporizer, or just making brownies or something and eat them.

Ya, I too reccomend a vaporizor. I know if I'm smoking some really nice weed, I cough like a bitch sometimes. If that hurts me, imagine how the baby would feel (you know, if I was a chick). Do it in moderation, no cigs either!! Don't you dare smoke cigs girl, or I'll slap you!

You are in the same boat as my best friend...she is 19...and a huugee stoner..and about a month pregnant..

..she called me the other night asking my opinion on smoking while pregnant.

I have 2 friends that smoked while pregnant and their babies are fine. The only studies linked to it really at this point are that it can cause depression..and like...symptoms we all have. I dunno..research it yo.

Some other problems it can cause are, low birth rate, and of course the baby can become "hard to sooth" after birth, as they crave the drug. I have some midwife training and have two kids, I have found information to support both sides, so the choice has to be yours.

I myself think it would be far better for people on anti depresents when preg, I had concerns though when I was Preg. with my last so I stopped.

Good luck! And CONGRATS on your growing family

My mom smoked, and im tall, lean, intelligent and good looking.
But then again smoking is bad for anyone, let alone someone pregnant, but then again your not the one whos gonna reap the rewards of the harvest your sowing.
Only thing better in a bisque then lobster is flipper baby!
Im not judging, cause I dont care.
Thanatos was once a popular name. It means death.
Dick is also a popular name.

My advice is to remove all doubt of any "potential" problems, and just not smoke for 9 months (or longer if you are concerned about breast feeding). Bringing a child into the world is probably the most important thing that you can do, and worth the very small sacrifice of going smokeless.

And I recommend that your hubby make the sacrifice with you.

I agree. All these anecdotes about moms smoking while they're pregnant and having kids just turn out fine remind me of cigarette smokers who say that their parents and friends smoked two packs a day and lived to be 100. Of course many babies will turn out fine and many cigarette smokers wont get cancer, but do you want to chance it?

Not to be judgmental but I'd agree with the others who advise against smoking during pregnancy or breast feeding. When my wife was pregnant I read a book called "What's Going On in There" about child development from conception on. There's so much going on, especially during the early development, and a lot can go astray. Even if the chances of a problem are small why risk it?
