What i have done is when the bowl is wet, dry hit it the apple without any weed. This will dry it out.

i think you would do just fine without the aluminum foil...just the sound of that bothers me. you can always make a screen with the part of the apple you cut out, you just have to be creative. again, leave the foil out of it.

I read "making an apple pie" too, so I was really disappointed, cause I really like apple pie.

Depending on the bud you have, you have just poke a hole through the center in the top, about half way down. Then another hole in the side of the apple, intersecting the previous hole. The top of the apple already forms a bowl shape. So you can just place a nug right there and you're good to go. Of course though, if you have a lot of small peices, or shake, your going to need some kind of screen.

see, that's what i usually do. there is no way ash will get in your mouth unless your just sucking way too hard. i was just thinking of an alternative other than aluminum foil, but a screen isn't really necessary with an apple pipe.
