flourescent lights
Ok, I was wondering... is growing with flourescent lighting worth the time and effort? I mean, I understand you'd need a good deal of flourescent light to produce the ideal wattage, but is the end product worthwhile? I plan on growing soon, and I don't want to use HPS lamps because I don't want to deal with ballasts and all the excess heat. has anyone grown a crop with just flourescents? how was your product?

My first grow was CFL's only (eight 100w). I pulled a little more than an ounce out of 1 large and several runt females. Using CFL's is extremely easy. The low level heat made it possible for me to take a 10-day vacation during flowering and they survived with a small wicking setup. I've only sampled a tiny bit, but it seems pretty decent.
But I'm shooting a POUND with my second grow in the same space (hopefully eight females), using 8 100w CFL's and then adding a 400w HPS for flowering. This is all just a goofy satire...sort of a National Lampoon thing and certainly only photos and ideas collected online.

Right so say for instance your using 2 125w blue spectrum Envirolights, and your growing 4 plants in DWC's is this gonna be sufficent? An then using a 600w HPS for flowering. Or should I just scrap the Envirolights and use the HPS throughout, at the end of the day im after quality and yield.

the envirolights are cfl's, I believe, great for veg, but consider that you want you cfl's 1-2" above your plants...can you cover 4 plants with 2 lights..

Go bigger, better set up, get a 400wt hps and a 400wt conversion bulb for the MH and use one for veg then switch
