Well, the only part they got right was the bit about piezoelectricity. The converse is also true: a voltage applied across a quartz crystal will cause it to distort. This is how the tiny transducers that make the BEEP sound in digital watches and other small electronic devices works.

After a little occult research, i have been able to do some very basic things with this crystal (which btw is still forming. any ideas for a name?) Basicly it will be my magic drug crystal.
