Hey all. First off, let me just thank those that helped me out in my "Need suggestions for storing" thread. Turned out to be naught as I left NY emptyhanded. Now, I got another question for ya'll. I'll be going to Paris in little over a week with a buddy of mine for ten days and there's a strong possibility we'll be making a day trip to the "holy land" of Amsterdam. As such, has anyone here been and if so, what are some of the best places and tea houses to check out? Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know how the Parisian toker scene is?

Firstly, are u over 18? coz if not you simply will not get any weed, they are very strict in the coffeeshops, i saw some people who looked in their mid 2o's get i.d 'd. So either have a fake i.d if ure under 18 (almost all of them work), an if ure over 18, jus make sure to take out ure i.d befor eu go out.

and there are loads of good coffeeshops around, but also some poor ones, i would say steer clear of an almost MacDonalds style chain called the bulldog: ive heard they've got some comparably poor weed. A personal favourite of mine is the Rokerij: nea the Leidensplein, really chilled, dark, relaxing atmosphere and top quaity weed. For hash you must check out the Kashmir Lounge really comfy sofas and the No1 place for hashish.

for more info, check this site http://www.smokersguide.com/sg/index.html its got list of all weed available in amsterdam, and reviews each 1. id also recomenend you have a look for a coffeeshop map, aswell as leting you find your next smoking spot it also helps you find ure way around, coz most of amsterdam looks the same.

Try to make a trip to Harleem as well. The weed there is cheaper and in some cases better. It's only a 15min train ride out of Amsterdam.

Wow, this is some good stuff. Just checked out the Rokerij website and that alone makes me want to jump on a plane right now. Hell, it almost makes me want to move. I wonder if the US has ever sent scouts or anything to study just how the Netherlands thrive with decriminalization (is it that or full on legalization?) because damn it we need places like that to open up here. I'm 22, btw, so thankfully being carded shouldn't be a problem.

Weed is jus decrminialized i think, or simply tolerated- i know its not actually legal, but coffeeshops are alowed to sell up to 5grams to each person.

Yeah, you're right. Looked it up. Apparently, it's due to international law and yet apparently drug problems in Amsterdam are comparably lower to cities of similar size, at least that's what I read.

Another quick question. Meant to add this to my last post. How is the language barrier? Is there one at all? My understanding is that almost everyone there speaks two of three languages with English being one of them, so I'm assuming it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Of course, you know what they say when you assume.
