Cleaning the Ol bong

I hate that stale smoke taste that builds up in the bong over time. I tried using alittle soap and hot water to soak the inside of my bong, which helped, but still left some stale odor of nasty smoke. How can i get that smell out? (i've heard of some chemicals (maybe it was bleach but that seems sketchy) that can do the trick; i just don't know which ones.)

rubbing alcohol

this will make your bong look like you just bought it...uncooked rice (so its still hard) and methylated sprits, give it a good shake and rinse...

^^^yep works like a charm rubbing alcohol with a high alcohol content and salt works good 2 makes it look brand new, but if its colour changin glass it will take the colour right out

thanks, i'm sure alcohol cleans great, but i heard that it can be nasty for you. or at least rubbing alcohol... would a really hard drinkable alcohol work?

Cleaning with rubbing alcohol and salt is perfectly safe. I used to clean my friends glass bong with this method all the time, often using an entire bottle of the shit. (It's a big bong) You just have to rinse it out after to get any remaining salt out and isopropyl alcohol evaporates quickly. This is the best method I know of for getting smoking devices 100% clean.
Unless you want to spring some extra cash from something like Formula 420 or Orange Chronic Cleaner, not sure what those contain.
