where was i when they declared zombies a real threat?

of course zombies are a threat! although, if you prepare properly, and have the right tools, you can survive a zombie attack. Here's some tips from the book:

1 defend a structure with at least 2 stories, and destroy the staircase

2 using a dirtbike is the best vehicle, as it can be pushed through the mass of stalled cars, and can be ridden quickly through a crowd of zombies, or go offroad easily

3 the best firearm for killing zombies is a semi-automatic rifle, considering that only headshots (or prolonged burning) will kill a zombie. it MUST be silenced, or every shot will be a beacon for all the zombies in the area "dinner is served"

4 the best melee weapon will be a samarai katana (the goal is decapitation with one swing) or, in greater supply, a good machete.

5 noise and light discipline must be observed at all times, as zombies will alert each other to your presence with thier signature moans.

6 your objective should be to away from the epicenter of the outbreak (usually urban centers) to an easily defensible location in a remote area. In the event of an outbreak, outlaws and banditis will be just as, if not more dangerous than the slow-moving dim-witted zombies.

7 if you or any member of the party is bitten, thier wound must be cauterized within 10 seconds with intense flame. If it is not, then immediate amputation of the limb. If none of these are possible, kill your comrade by a headhsot or decapitation. If you are the one bitten, then a gun in your mouth is much more pleasurable than becoming one of the lving dead.
