I just bought a glass pipe, and I prefer it much better than any of my friend's metal ones. The hits are smoother, it tastes better, the pipe doesn't heat up...and no, you don't need a screen, the hole is a lot smaller.

u dont gotta use a screen and if ur ina situation that u have alot of shake just role a j,,a joint every once in a while aint gonna hurt you,,if ur looking for smooth hits with even less harmful stuff use a bong if u dont lvie with parents or ne thin like that

Glass pipes don't want anything to do with metal. That means you shouldn't scrape them either. to clean them you can put them in a cup full of rubbin alcohol, or if you want to smoke the resin you can boil it out and then dry it, but be careful because this could b fatal to your bowl after you boil it.

If you put the pipe in the water before it heats up and let it heat up with the water, it won't crack. Also, boil it on a low rolling boil, then DON'T pour cold water on it to cool it down; let it cool naturally.

also it's easier to clean per use, than using the pipe for months on end then cleaning it.

I find cleaning mine every couple of weeks keeps them in perfect shape.
