A Qestion for Noosa, Harddon, Or Zandor...

Well, I went to water my girl, and low and behold...I fucked up and broke a 12" branch off her. Is it too late to clone this branch? If not, what method do you suggest using to propigate it? The only thing I have is rooting hormone powder. Right now I have the branch in a vase filled with water, and I cut the bottom of the stem on an angle. then, I trimmed the first set of leaves up from the cutting to expose the node for the roots to pop out. Next question: Will it propigate just staying in the water as-is(changing the water every couple days, ofcourse), or should I put an airstone/airiater in the water with it...or should I say screw the water method all together and use the rooting powder-stick it directly into moist soil? Help me out here fellas, for I probly dont have much of a time frame to choose. Thanks-emtpockets

PS-I will include pics if you ask for them.

if i was you I would:

get the rooting powder on her and get her in moist soil now...and spray mist her too.

    P.S....

    Quit breaking her branches

She should still be able to be cloned no problems....the question is...how long was she in water? I would perhaps re-snip her up an inch if it was say more than 30 minutes?

I have witnessed cuttings kept in water for 14 days and then razor bladed at an angel dipped in hormone beyond node and then put in ph 5.o rockwool... 5 days later.. presto rooted like a champ... I have seen this many times...

to be safe you should use wilt spray as well.. If the branch is 12 inches you can make many clones...

from your description, it sounds like you have a firm grasp on cloning technique..

the root powder works fine, unless you have extra budget, you don't need to change until you run out...if you want to use bubble stones make sure the root end is out of the water after you dip it in takeroot...in other words make a little bubbler, dip the cutting, you need a foam plug to hold the cutting in the whole you cut in top of some type of plastic container

You do need to get some air to the roots as well. What GK is saying is right. The water is just a temp holding place. It was when the cutting was moved to the Rockwool that it rooted. It can root in the glass of water; just remember roots don't like light. The chances of success are not as high as if you used Peat moss pellets, Rockwool or another rooting method.
Sorry to hear about the accident.

What's wrong with members asking for help? Your post was no help to answer his problems at all. You hijacked his thread so you can bitch. Take it to the feed back forum if you have a problem.
    Please stay on topic
Rudeness and disrespect is not tolerated. If you don't like it here go elsewhere. Nobody is forcing you to stay; personally I think this is a great forum. There are hundreds of new members learning to grow and others learning to grow better. Whatâ??s wrong with that?

I'll start back I couldn't edit fast enough to get you all the info and pic's: get a gallon or 2 gallon container, get some 1" thick foam rubber
drill hole in top of container to fit plug add superthrive to ph adjusted water and airstones in water, keep root out of water 2-3 weeks roots/clone...
hopes this helps you get the idea. this works great, also for anti-wilt, wally's sells miracle grow "leaf shine" it works...superthrive and leaf shine will cost you less than 10 bucks, but will be quite worth it...goodluck
P.S. I do not think there is anything wrong with asking a specific person/s
    you trust for help...
