July 24 (Bloomberg) -- London Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair said his force ``deeply regret'' the death of a 27-year-old Brazilian man shot by officers in the search for terrorists behind four attempted bombings July 21.

Jean Charles de Menezes, an electrician living in the British capital, was shot dead at Stockwell subway station in south London on July 22, after officers pursued him from an apartment building under police surveillance. Police are seeking four male suspects in the attempted attacks on three subway trains and a bus.

``To the family I can only express our deepest regrets,'' Blair said today in an interview on Sky News. ``We have terrorists using suicide as a weapon on the streets of London and below the streets of London. What we have to recognize is that people are taking incredibly difficult, fast-timed decisions in life-threatening situations.''

It was bound to happen sooner or later. People on edge, hightened alerts......
We definately have to take steps to curb these type of random attacks but unfortunately we have situations like these. Do nothing and hundreds die, do something and an innocent life is lost.

What a wonderful world we live in!
