If you get pets high you should blow the smoke into their ear. Blowing smoke in their face can ruin their sense of smell and sight. Also, a few second hand hits is all they need, if they get too high its really bad for em..

He got his dog high by grabbing his snout and blowing smoke directly into his nose. The dog didn't seem to enjoy the process at all. I must admit I was kindof offended and felt a little bad for the dog. It also seemed to have a scared-into-submission attitude about it but maybe that's just the way dogs are.
