*what and where is a node on a plant?*
The node is the location where the plant grows a leaf.
Each set of leaves, at the base where they meet the main stem, are nodes. It is from these 'nodes' that the secondary grow shoots emerge and turn into flowers at the flower time.
As the plant matures, the set of leaves will give way to only one leaf per node...this is known as alternating nodes, and hence the proof your plant has matured.
