Too much heat cause the fan leaves to grow larger to control the internal temperature of the plant. The larger fan leaves block the light to other parts of the plant and reduces lumens penetration.

Excessive heat for over a period of time can turn a female plant into a hermie.

Excessive is about how long cause it's been about 105 degrees for the last couple weeks...
there doing alright, they look really good I think...still growing quite abit despite the heatwave.
Tiny bit of nute burn on the tips, stopped feeding till heatwave is over unless it tells me it needs some.
I think the heatwave should be over in a few days but it stays pretty hot for the rest of summer here...I'm in cali too.
But I'm in centeral california abit inland...kind of smack dab in the middle and slightly south.

Ya that's excessive. Are you growing outdoors? If so try a mister they sell a wand snake type at HD. I can't remember the name but it puts out a very fine mist of water. That will drop the temperature of the plants about 10-15 degrees. The extra moisture will help to keep the plant from transpiring as well. Sometime there is not much you can do about a heat wave but to pray. Watch for signs of hermie balls on the lower parts of the plants. Pick them off as you find them (if you do).

Other then that I wish you all the luck.

Ya there outside...I'll just pray and pick the balls if they pop up.
I have some going inside also, so the outside grow is just because I can grow legally. All the srains I have outside I've cloned a long time ago for inside so no worries.I mean that would suck ,but what ya gonna do?
    thanx

Yes, the water droplets are very small. They are measured in microns. Outdoor restaurants use them on their patio areas around customers. It is more like a fog of moisture or morning mist. A sprinkler is to big of a droplets of water and will cause the magnifying affect.

I have my outdoor patio layout all mounted with the misters. Saw them at a resort in Scottsdale, AZ.....

    Helps keep it cool.
