That is a very good question, OzzyOz... I think that people just seem to want to seek out new highs... And a bit of peer pressure added to the mix just seems to make people do it, though they ordinarily may not. I was toking with a friend of mine, and he had some Coke. Now, I have an extremely addictive personallity and I knew that trying something new might lead to an addiction... But he kept pushing it and finally to shut him up, I tried it... I wasn't amused.

Really, I have no idea why people do other things... Maybe to try and push open their doors of perception. People like Timmothy Leary.
