Maybe not as secluded as you wanted, but just north of Dallas is Bonham state park. Its about an hour or so north of Plano. It is a state park, but they have the primative camping and its usualy a lot less crowded then the other state parks. They have a great little lake where you can rent a canoe and stuff. Also, the surronding area is all great small towns.

Anyway just thought Id throw in my two cents worth.
chrisinallen Reviewed by chrisinallen on . good camping spots? Howdy, does anyone know of some good places to camp not too far from DFW? I'm thinking maybe an hour to an hour and half away tops. I'm looking for somewhere far enough away from a road that I won't be hearing traffic, and where I won't run into many people, preferably none. I want somewhere that lacks power, bathrooms, and all that stuff. Thanks for any help. Rating: 5
