I think they're alright, they sound way too much like Phish. And as we all know, Phish came first.
I do recommend "Sometimes a river" by SCI. It's a very good song.naturalmystic Reviewed by naturalmystic on . String Cheese Incident I think they're alright, they sound way too much like Phish. I disagree. SCI is very talented, like Phish, but they have a different sound, more bluegrass-ie. Lester had a coconut is probably one of my fav SCI songs

saw them with yonder mountain and keller williams last week first time i saw any of them and i thought they were pretty good it was like 25 bucks for several bands maybe 7 hrs of music or so welll worth the tix price and they even sold decent beer at the show ..never saw or listined to any of phishs stuff so i dont really have any thing to compare ..but YMSB was very good and KW was great to and my son and his mom seemed to like SCI i think there are still a few shows left on the tour well worth the drive

Man that is awesome. I would love to see SCI Keller Williams and YMSB all in one shot. I saw YMSB and Keller Williams in North Plains during the Northwest String Summet, along with some other really good bands. What show did you see them all play together at... and for 25 bux!! man that's cool. The friends of cheese festival is going to be at the Hideout in North Plains on the 8th of Aug... I believe. 3 day festival. I want to go really bad but I don't have the cash

i caught the richmond show the lawn seats were 25 but you cou;d get into the cheap seats ez the orchestra seating was a lil tougher and took some time to distract the ticket checkers [ not very hard to fool them though ] i not sure if any shows are left on this tour or not but check YMSB site it has a list hope you can still catch one or 2

SCI does have their own disticnt bluegrass sound in some songs. But other songs, their guitar playing and sound just sounds alittle to simliar to Phish.
