So my three outdoor plants have been doing well for quite sometime, but recently some rather strange stuff has happened. I aplogize in advance for the lack of pictures, my camera has been on the fritz for months.

1. Many of the fan leaves have recently died off, this didn't concern me that much , as I've been led to believe this is something fairly normal, however, some of the yellowing leaves have started to curve upwards at the tips. This, according a book of a freinds (it's from like, the 60's) , can be attributed to Magnesium (Mg) deficiency. How can I correct this, and should I bother considering how mature the plants seem to be?

2. The smallest of out three plants (only about three feet high, the others are 4 1/2 and 5 feet tall) is budding, where as the others are showing just small hairs and getting started. The smaller plant is however, the most healthy, aside from a worm that munched on a couple of it's leaves. Is it normal for the smallest plant to be budding first?
