hi there, the hardest part of the process is that you have to wait for at least 65-90 days until you enjoy the final product.....otherwise it may seem difficult to choose a strain or two among the 450-500 that there are around but trust me it is not that hard to do....the family of cannabis can be divided into 3 categories

a:cannabis sativa.....tall plants which mature within 9-12 weeks of flowering, the high they give when smoked is a more celebral, you can do activities....

b:cannabis indica.....small to medium sized plants which mature within 7-9 weeks of flowering, their effect is more like a body stone, you get couch locked,relaxing....

c:cannabis ruderalis....plants that grow and flower after a certain amount of time even if the grower does not want them to, they're autoflowering......

you should be interested on the first two.....other than that there are many strains because there are many crosses between the strains, others are 50/50 indica/sativa and others can be like 75/25 sativa/indica......look at www.overgrow.com where you will be able to find more or less all the known strains, along with growing reports, tips and contacts of their breeders.....also, it is safe to buy seeds from the internet, if you like my advice buy directly from the breeder i.e. Nirvana....take a look at http://www.nirvana-shop.com/ for more info on prices delivery times etc....if they can't deliver nobody will ever......finally Northern Lights is a very good strain for the new grower (i haven't grown that yet) and from personal experience it's a very good quality smoke.....it would be wiser to start with an indica dominant strain as they tend to mature faster than sativas which can take up to a month more time to finish......

if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask...take care and post updates if you want
