    My babies: Day 5 (lol)

I hope you have plenty of drainage in your cup. As well as in the pot you are going to use. What type of soil are you going to use? Not MG I hope?

    Good luck.

I added a long regular fluro to the inside of my box and that is pretty close to theplants and it doesn't get to hot. Also, its much different then my compact fluros. It kinda gives off a purpleish blue light. Is this the blue spectrum? I have a fan blowing on them 24/7, and I plan to get pots for them tomorrow. Also, yes Zandor, I have hold on the bottoms of the cups for drainage. They've gotton alot bigger already with all the light they had last night (put the lights closer).

Turn your purpleish blue tubal flo off and save the juice. It wont do anything for the plants...except entertain them perhaps...wont help them grow. Your CFL's will provide the 5500K you are looking for.

If you want to run a tubal, get a bright white, as strong as you can find.

At this stage you do not need a tubal light. Just keep the lights you have on them very close and you will be more than fine for a few weeks.

Keep that fan going 24/7 on them.

The blue fluro tube light is very bright, it just has a blue-ish tint to it. Don't the plants need a blue spectrum? I thought they did... the light won't do anythign at all? Its not THAT blue... just a little. I nee to buy more compact fluros... grr. I put the plants into pots today. They are pretty big. They'll do for the rest of their growing lives.

Its not just the light color. That is part of the equation.

Light below or underneath the canopy when delivered with floros will help prevent leaf death and undergrowth. As far as growing or vegging, you wont be able to grow anything but small tiny leaves and small tiny buds.

So floros NOT CLOSE to the plant surface will help PREVENT deleafage...but its benefits are pretty much relegated to that during flowering.

If you cant get the floros within 2 inches of the surface, it simply prolongs life that exists, but will help new growth but not enuff to grow balzin plants.

If you are in veg, and have the right lights within inches of the plant top or crown, you dont need side light...yet....

I'm just puting all these lights aorund the plant and seeing what happens... its my frist grow. I'm hopping that I'll learn from this and know better for my next grow. I should also look into buying a larger stealth grow box... or buying another container, and making an upward-adition. But maybe I'll do that for my next grow... but maybe not. it depends on how small I can keep them.
