Woohoo! Tried a vaporizer for the first time two night ago @ my friend's house, & loved it! It was sort of weird at first... I'm so used to smoking that I didn't feel like I was getting anything. Hah! It was a very nice buzz, we sat around & watched a DVD of some very arty pin-up style erotic photography for awhile.

Guess what's next on my shopping list? I'm curious as to what kind is top-rated, because I'd rather splurge & get something very dandy. I'd check epinions.com, but as helpful as that site is for choosing a mattress or bread machine, I don't think they have reviews for this sort of thing, lol. Any recommendations?

The two names that I've heard a lot about are the Volcano and the Vapezilla, but I'm far from knowledgable on vaporizers.

Bah, silly kiddies, if you want to get a vaporizer get a vapo brothers. Personally the one I have and would DEFINETLY reccomend is this one

Its a great vapo and fairly priced, you'll definitely get your moneys worth out of it, no doubt that magic box really is magic. I'd also get one of these nicer whips...

You could always just make one yourself with a lightbulb, with a straw on top. Pop your weed in then heat the outside of the bulb with a lighter - ala vaporizer. It works quite well but obviously an electric one works much better, but the lightbulbs handy if your on a budget, or have a budget of nil.

get a volcano vaporizer ( it works just as good as any other, but is substantially better in the fact that you can start and stop hitting it at any time because the vapor goes right into a nifty little bag with a sport cap on it ).

Mirno sctlnd, I think the lightbulb idea is most ingenious & would probably serve quite well in a time of need. But like I said, I'd like to splurge & get something nice.

Alr, I looked at that & it seems quite nice, but I'm a little confused. On that site they talk about putting the weed in the whip, but when I was with my friend there was a glass dome & the weed went on a metal holder-thingy inside. I guess I don't understand how it's supposed to get heated if it's in the whip, or what the wooden box-part is for in that case either. Can you offer any clarification, please?

I need money (the person, lol), I have heard of the volcano before, & like that aspect of it from what I hear. It also seems like the vapo bros one alr recommended does the same thing... no? Would you two like to engage in a li'l friendly discussion over why you feel yours is better? lol I really appreciate the suggestions so far; keep 'em coming, don't be shy!

haha get the one in the hightimes magazine its like 120 er somthing but its a marble box and it come with a hose with a glass toob on the end and u put it up to another glass tube on the marble box and it heats it up and smoke has never been better.

I just got a vaporizer last week. I love it! I've had several others but this is by far the best.

The vapo brothers, "The Box" works like this...
There is a small knob on the front that is used to turn the vapo on or off and change the intensity. You turn the vapo on all the way in the beggining for like 4 minutes and let the metal rod pointing out of the box heat up. The rod is incased in glass and the whip is as well, so you are smoking from glass on glass, which is my personal favorite. While the vapo is heating you break up your herbs nice and finely (grinder is best) and pack the whip up like half way. Then just lower the heat of the Vaporizer put the whip against the burning rod, and voila! YOU'VE BEEN VAPED! Its best if you suck hard enuf that you can hear a whistle noise...that means your gonna get a devestating rip...The Volcano is AMAZINGGG as well. It does the exact same thing as the box except it even takes the hit for you, unfortunately it was a little too expensive for my taste.
Vaporizing is soo much better for you, because it only burns the thc (the part that gets you high) keeping all the bad parts of pot out of you. When herbz are smoked with a lighter the fire burns around 90% of the thc, but with the vaporizer you inhale around 70% of the thc!! Only losing like 30%, which is why it is the device reccomended for medical use. Even the high is different more like the body high of brownies, and it definitely taste different too...mmmm mmmm buurnt popcorn!
