racist 'remarks in chat' be warned
didn't get my edit done in the required 5 minutes so here's the rest...
we have no use for such hate here and there is no circumstance it can be said in any other way...it as racist as racist can get! same goes for any derogatory name used against anyone or any race! it also bothers me greatly the casual way you guys toss around "retard" and i am not alone on this...i suggest thinking about others before making mindless comments whether intended as fun or not. it's easy to hurt others' feelings here and when hateful words even used in jest are spread it will draw a response and things get heated up from there.del... Reviewed by del... on . racist 'remarks in chat' be warned they will not be tolerated use of racial slurs and puttin down poeples race is something that will get your ass banned from the chatroom instantly if im aware of it they aint jokes and they aint funny opinions are one thing but if its gonna be that you must call people names like that to piss somebody off note it will and that somebody may just have a ban button its for entertainment yes sadistic pleasure NO Rating: 5

actually, what nowhere man is speaking of is anti-semetic remarks made in the chat, calling someone a dirty bagel-eating money-spending jew. actually, he called me that, even though im not jewish. i was offended on behalf of my jewish friend though.

beeble, i am talking about HERE. we all know how a few kids can take things and run with em...and take the board down with it. i could give a shit what's in libraries or the 3d world...i do not moderate there. but i do moderate here and have been a mod at cann dot com since '97 and have seen countless times what one simple off-color remark can start in an immature world.

Well, I agree. But, my point was that simply having a kneejerk reaction to a word without taking the context and the intent of the speaker into account starts one down a path I'd just as soon not take. You can moderate the way you wish, of course, but for myself, I'm not going to automatically delete a post or ban a user for using a given word without trying to understand his intent and allowing for the context in which it is used.

i agree with del on this, IMO ppl using the word nigger, nigga will only start a argument or cause tension, the word(s) don't need to be said so they shouldnt be. Also there is other ways of racism that has been used in the forum before, i tend to pop into chat now and then and like nowhereman said anyone wether its in chat or on the forums shouldnt use any form of racism its not needed.

As a half black man, I don't really feel offended if friends of mine, regardless of color use the phrase "nigga". That being said, there are people of color and religon who are much more easily offended then me, so as long as tact and respect are being used, I don't have a problem with the occassional "N-Bomb" being dropped. If people are using words with mailce however...just keep it off the forums/chat/whatever.
