    What to do

ezjmim and chowder are right. Basically if your a fuck up you'll do bad whether or not you smoke. If your a good student you'll do good whether or not you smoke. I was a fuck up in high school, got stoned all the time, and barely graduated with a 1.something GPA. I screwed around for a few years but finally got my shit together and went back to school. Even though I kept smoking I still ended up getting my BS and graduating with honors.

Since you already have a scholarship I'm guessing you aren't a fuck up. So just remember to set your priorities. School comes first so don't smoke when your at school, don't smoke when your studying, don't put off researching a paper so you can get stoned etc. etc. You'll do fine.
Fengzi Reviewed by Fengzi on . What to do I start school in August and I am a pretty heavy smoker. I know that smoking causes short term memory loss and I was wondering if I should quit smoking completely so that I can make the grade. I have to keep a 2.5 gpa to keep my scholarships. Any advice? :o Rating: 5

    What to do

I'm an engineering major and I smoke when I study. Each person feels different effects, but it helps me focus and study better. Try it out and see how it goes.

I haven't realy heard of any studies showing memory lose when you aren't high. I think its only hard to remember stuff for like 6 hours after smoking (at least for me).

lol i was one of the top in my class in my last year of school (before i quit) i was going to school stoned and everything, it don't affect me at all, i acutally need it to be normal. i would never have homework either cuz i'd get all my class work done (with no less than a B) in about 10 minutes then do any leftover/home work from the classes before...then if i had time do any homework i had for that class....i suggest doing it this way cuz then you have all the time you want/need to chill with friends and relax.

Pot causes short term memory loss only during the high. Regardless of what you're often told, the studies only show short-term memory (but not long-term memory) is impaired as long as the user is high and no longer. So even if you smoked up right before the big test it probably wouldn't affect you much since the long-term memory is mostly what's important then. But try not to go to class stoned if you're afraid you can't do it without forgetting stuff (me, I go stoned anyways, and bring a notebook ) and don't smoke when you should be studying instead.
