Help/Advice with grow setup

I know there are alread a couple of threads about this but i didn't really want to take over someone elses thread so i'll just start this one.

I've been growin my plants for about 2 months now using a 600w HPS lamp which at the moment is just hanging from my pull up bar in my room. It's ok there short term but i really need to get some sort of grow room set up cos every time i open my bedroom door it looks like some kind of miracle's happenin lol.

I'm thinkin of building a kind of storage box that i could use more permanently and especially when flowering, prefrably it would be used as the dark room too. I have quite a bit of space but i'm not really wanting it to take up the whole room or anythin and the cost isn't too much of an issue cos i work full time.

I've already got a light, fan and plenty mylar to coat it once it's done just not too sure of the best way to start so any advice would be great

Ish i like to grow nice and simple so i find the best way to make a little set up as i like to call it or grow chamber ,would b more corect.
All you need is to go to your local alluminium dealer and get the square tubing that fits together with special plastic fittings so u can build a square fame.U will need 4 uprite post the same length as hiegh as u need and 8 equle lengths to make it into a square ,4 at the top and 4 at the bottom so the legs dont pull in.
then u go to your hardware store and buy some ply wood sheet that will fit over the top of the frame u have built. cut a hole for the exhaust fan screw that in.Cut a hole in the midle so you can hang your light.
u then need to go to your local hydroponic store and purchase that plastic that is black on one side and white on the other.wrap your frame in this ,white side in.I use a good quality tape to hold it all together.
Then u need to make a door buy cutting down to of your upright post atach velcro to the plastic then u can fold one side up and down...
i have grown many a crop like this,haveing the vacume fan on top,leave a little gap at the bottom of the grow chamber.this gives u great air flow.no need far a fan then...hope u can follow my ramble

Thanks for that dan it definatly gives me a lot to think about, i'll measure up n try to draw up some plans see how it goes.

What distance does the lamp need to be from the sides of the "grow chamber" to make sure it doesn't get too hot?

My gow chamber was 1.3m square 0r about 4feet square i think.i hung a 1000watt lamp in that with no probs,and it was about 2m tall or about 6 1/2 feet .With a good quality vacume fan.
I also had a smaller propagation chamber with a 400 watt son-t light it was about the same width but only about 5 feet tall.

I measured up last night and i think i'm gonna be able to fit something similar to the size u have. I'm gona go for 4' x 4' x 8'

I think the whole things gona be wood probly either mdf or plywood, should that work out ok?

Just bought some new nutes n a PH test kit too so can't w8 to get goin

I think wood will probly be better than the plastic,all u will need to do then is paint the inside with a nice gloss white.
