topping question..
Some would argue that topping during flowering is not a good idea. I, on the other hand, find nothing wrong with it. I have done it several time, and the bottom buds that are not as developed, or don't appear to be, get a few more weeks of light and the yeild greatly increases. Look at my pictures down below.
First picture is a shot 1 week before I topped it. The second picture is 3 weeks after I topped it. As you can see, the bottom filled out quite nicely. If I would have left it, I would have smaller, under developed buds. That's my opinion.
Yes, you can top before flowering. That is what more people prefer. When topping during veg, the method influences another main shoot to start growing. Making the plant have more than one main cola, and making the plant more bushy rather than tall.

topping question..
Hey nice beauties up there! When is the earlyest I can top? I'm thinking about topping around the 3d or 4th node only because (as you know from my grow box) that I need to keep my plants pretty small... but they have enough room to be bushy.

Wouldn't the 5th or 6th node be too tall? It grows half its length in flowering doesn't it? They gotta be kinda small.
