    What happens when you die?

I just want everyone's beliefs on where you go when you die. As for mine I believe you go to the cave of creation where you see all the stuff you could have had if you played your cards right then you walk through a door with you spirit name on it and you become a spirit once again where you are awarded with a new color that spins within you. Some people end up in heaven or hell but they are just illusions created from such strong belief and you have to see through the illusion to leave.

    What happens when you die?

I believe that when you die,you end up being apart of what you have always been, other words if your negative and evil! and have contributed very little in the way of Love! then when you die you become apart of that energy you created for yourself,Kinda like this,Jesus says he will go and prepare a room for us,and in that room it will be filled with your heart desire's,but in actual fact what I believe the Lord is really saying,it's you who create your own room! of existence, not that I believe we are gods or anything that would be foolish, and I ain't saying we create heaven! all those things are of the Lord...

Just saying that Jesus spoke about really cool things and when you read deep enough enough into his words you kinda get a bigger picture of whats to come..if your evil you created your own hell! if your a good person with Love in their heart then thats what you become apart of that great love!..

The words of Christ"In my fathers mantion(HEAVEN) there are many rooms(PLACES of existence) where I will go and prepare a place for you(Place of existence) and in that room will be filled with all your heart desires(Your existence and reflection of who you really were)......."If this was not so I would not have told you so"..............

Well in my faith I hold Christ completely in trust, but what I believe he is really trying to say what ever your heart is,is what you become,if your good then that is who you are,if you are evil then that is who you are,and of course your heart plays on what your spirit has become.....

Now I ain't in no way writing my own scriptures here friend by any means,it's just with Jesus he kinda sneaks the truth in, in his own little cool way....but I believe that my existence after my death will be with Jesus, simply because he is my greatest desire!.....if you notice in most near death exsperiences, people sometimes say Jesus came to them but in most cases it was a dead family member or a friend who passed away ,I believe the friend or family memeber is sent to you to try and make you understand or help you feel comfortable, but in my case I exspect the Lord waiting there for me!.....thats why it's so important to be good in your heart to remain good in your spirit..

I sware this looks familiar, I saw another thread like this posted sometime ago. I believe that I will return to the spirit world and maybe become a guide or teacher to someone else that's living.

I still lean towards reincarnation, since there isn't a shread of evidence for any other after life theory.

What interests me most is that the powerful hallucinogen DMT is known to be produced in the pineal gland of the brain, it has been linked to near death experiences and may be produced in greater amounts at birth and death.

Take it with a grain of salt of course.

Well, if there's any source for the experience we call consciousness, the scientific data would point to its origin in the neural network of the brain. This, to me, is far more plausible than the "eternal immortal soul" theory, where something not made of matter or energy (like everything detectable in the universe) is somehow able to control our physical bodies through some mysterious forces, AND it has the power of reason and thinking, even though we already have scientific theories for those phenomena that don't postulate an entire transcendental universe of non-matter, non-energy "soul stuff" that we can't detect with any scientific instruments. If "souls" are in control of our bodies, why do we have brains? Why can we detect all sorts of phenomena pertaining to thought and consciousness by analyzing the activity in the human brain? Why does brain damage cause drastic changes to cognizance and personality (or one's "soul", if you will)? The evidence all points to consciousness being a product of the human brain, so it stands to reason that when the human brain ceases to function so too does our consciousness, just as surely as our blood circulation dies with the heart. We will experience nothing after death like we experienced nothing before birth. But people are afraid of the sudden termination of their consciousness, their experience, their acquaintance with anything and everything they've ever cherished, so they will continue to make up theories about how they will continue to experience consciousness for all eternity while I will make the best of the few decades I am grateful to have.

Very well put. I completely agree.

There is still so much humans don't know about their own brains, and probably never will.
Professor Eccles said that "the brain is messenger to consciousness". Among other brain specialists he said the brain appears to process rather than produce consciousness.

Consciousness, the subjective experience of an inner self, could be a phenomenon forever beyond the reach of neuroscience. Even a detailed knowledge of the brain's workings and the neural correlates of consciousness may fail to explain how or why human beings have self-aware minds. - David Chalmers

    What happens when you die?

It is a common argument that just because we don't fully understand something as complex as the human brain, that there must therefore be a transcendental universe of "soul stuff" that we can't measure that one day decided to take control of creatures sometime on the evolutionary line between the first bacteria and modern humans. I don't see the logic in this argument. If the brain merely "processes" consciousness and does not produce it, where IS consciousness? If it is not in this physical world, where is the evidence that something intangible can affect the physical world? Insofar as human consciousness is poorly understood, it seems to come from the brain and there is no compelling evidence that forces beyond the laws of physics, and the matter and energy inside the universe, are affecting our physical world. It is not unreasonable to demand extraordinary evidence for such an extraordinary claim as the eternal immortal soul theory.
