I started drinking again at the time because my dad had died, and I figured booze might work.

I know this isn't about pot, but it's still about partying, so I'll add it for the fuck of it.

I started drinking when I was 15, (Same time as weed), and drank a ton for a few months, until I stopped being friends with my buyer. After that, I stopped for a couple of months, then began drinking once in awhile again.

In 02/2005, the lack of a job started getting to me, so I picked up the drinking habit, and drank like a fish for about two weeks straight. I stopped due to a suicide attempt.

In 04/2005, my dad died from a long battle with heart disease, and I embraced drinking like it was going out of style. Every day for roughly a month, I was drunk. It got to the point where my friends wouldn't buy it for me, and I've not drank that regularly again. Maybe once in awhile at a party, but not alone, and not when I'm in a weird mood, (Shit gets broken that way). I don't regret most of the things I did when I was drinking; none of them were really that bad, except the suicide attempt. That's in the past now, so once I turn 21, I'll drink every day.

PS: My mother is an alcoholic, and I probably have those tendencies in me.

you might ought to stick to the weed dude. a suicude attempt is a good indicator that you dont handle your drinking very well... oh yea is you mom a drunk or a alcoholic?? there is a differance .. alcoholics go to meeting's ..drunk's go to the store .. im gald to say im a drunk .. at least a part time drunk ..

That wasn't an indication that I'm weak when it comes to drinking. It was the result of having several shitty days, and I would've tried to kill myself whether I was drunk or not. My mother is a drunk; she seeks no help of any kind.

Seriously dude, there's nothing wrong with drinking, I have a few here and there, I never really get drunk anymore. But whatever you do, do it in moderation. Alcohol isn't as much a drug, as it is a mild poison, and that definatly can't be good for you.

Bullshit. I have vowed to now drink excessively in my life because my dad has been an alcoholic my whole life, and its really bad. he gets easily angry and freaks out, over nothing,is violent and just plain annoying. i dont want to be like him so im not gonna drink..just smoke pot.

drinking is good but i almost never drink to get drunk. i just drink like 2 or 3 beers or 3-4 shots then i stop. i have friends who have done some really stupid shit on alcohol but weed just seems to help me in life. it gave me a new outlook on life and it is the only thing that stops my depression. alcohol increases it. fuck booze, unless its free, in that case go for a little.
