Besides, most cops are cops so they can bring down the baddies. Having to bring the stupid junkies and drugheads with them is just something they have to do on the side.

Most don't even consider it important and wish they could ignore that shit so they had more time to handle the important stuff. Not so much in small towns, but in cities that's generally how it works.

Cops exist to enforce the law. They work hard to bust marijuana smokers because that's what they are told to do by their boss, the government. It is not the police's fault when someone gets busted for dope, you have to go to the source, the legislature. Now in all honesty, there are some power hungry assholes. But they enforce the laws as they are told to, and they have no control over what the laws are. If you don't do what you are told at work, your ass is going to get fired, same thing would happen to a cop.

And you know, if it wasn't for the cops that you all hate so much, people would be robbing your house, raping your wife, molesting your children, stealing your money, killing your pets, stealing your car, pissing on the side of your house, and all sorts of things that you would be pretty pissed off if they happened to you.

The most important thing in America is our freedom and part of a cops job is to take away the freedom of someone that doesn't deserve it by putting them in jail. That a huge responsibility, and I'm sure the goal of the majority of police is not to take away your freedom. And before you say we don't have freedom in this country, atleast women can show their faces here. Atleast you can go to whatever church you want, work where you want, go where you want, and get everything you need. We may have our flaws, but we're better off than people in so many other places.

So next time before you say fuck the police, look at the source of the problem, and give those greedy fucking government big wigs the finger.

if the cop had let him go for the moment he could have aprehended him at a later time .. high speed chases almost always end badly .. and i dont care what any one says cops are the sworn enemy of every stoner .. Cops are sworn in to uphold the law, and like it or not, marijuana is illegal, so that you could say "cops are the sworn enemy of every stoner" is a huge generalization you are making based on your own emotions as a stoner, fearing getting caught for doing something...*drumroll*....illegal!

Many cops take their oath very seriously, and though you and I may not agree with the drug laws, and even many cops themselves may not agree, I would much prefer a cop to be competant and uphold the laws he's supposed to, than pick and choose based on his own personal morality, and god knows what that could entail.

What bugs me most about your posts in this thread are your assumptions on policemen's character as a whole, and your broad generalizations, which dont seem to have much basis other than you feel "Everybody knows this! Everybody feels this way!" By failing to provide us any info that may lead us to believe that you are a deep thinker, the where and how you reached these assumptions and generalizations come off like you speak from pure emotion and an ignorant upbringing. I can really understand potpimp's, Encatuse, and Satovan's replies to your words - cuz everything you've said so far is really hard to stomach. Oh hell yeah, I don't like guns, but I do agree that if someone is trying to take a leak on the side of your house a 12 gauge pointed at their nuts would be a pretty effective deterrant.
