Zandor Question Or Bending vs Cropping

    Zandor,

I read you sticky on Bending vs Cropping and agree with everything you say in it. It makes sense to me that some strains do better with bending and others do better with cropping.

I don't have the experience to say which is better, but I trust our judgment on this issue.

On my second grow I cropped a few of the ladies and did do my side by side grow. My personal results have shown that the bent plants are doing better than the cropped ones. It may be the strain that i am using at this point.

I will continue to experiment with each new grow an learn a little more everytime.

Does the cropped plants require a little more veg time to recover from cropping & repeated cropping? If so could this be the difference between a side by side grow between the two options?

    Thank for the help.

Zandor Question Or Bending vs Cropping

Good to hear you are experimenting. That's half the fun growing to me.

When you crop you need to add side light on all sides to have proper light penetration throughout the whole plant. If you only light from the top (like 95% of the people do) the foliage can grow to thick for proper light penetration. Bending allows for light penetration through the foliage but it also only lights ½ of the branch too. Unless you use side light all the way around again you are only lighting the top of each branch. See the pattern starting to form?

Keep up with the experimenting. I do read most every post I just donā??t always reply. We have some very knowledgeable members here and if the information is correct and easy for others to understand I just donā??t always reply.
Keep records and pay close attention to light and temperature. Next play with misters and foliage spray, but be careful if the water droplets are to big you can burn the leaves.

Zandor Question Or Bending vs Cropping

A cropped plant will recover and start growing again like a weed in about 2 weeks to 3 weeks. Misters speed this up by about 1/2 the time too btw.
